Product description
Teufel spent two and a half years developing the DEFINION 3's unique flat diaphragm coaxial enclosure. SCA (Synchronized Coaxial Acoustics) technology allows it to act as a single point audio source, ensuring the least possible lag between midwoofer and tweeter.
Nearly all output frequencies reach the listener's ear at exactly the same time, resulting in particularly authentic and natural sound reproduction.
Sound dispersion
Like in the real world, individual sounds are perceived as coming from a single source. Sound is dispersed uniformly for identical audio at various listening positions.
Tweeter and midwoofer
The tweeter and midwoofer are fused together into a single element. This leads to a superior sense of space than can be achieved with a separate tweeter.
Flat diaphragms
Flat diaphragms avoid constricting the tweeter sonically. They vibrate air particles naturally on a single plane, preventing interference and producing more precise sound as a result.
The DEFINION 3S are the latest addition to our reference-class DEFINION range. High-end technology like the SCA coaxial enclosure, wok woofers, and precision bass reflex channel give the DEFINION 3S their transparent sound and powerful bass. Sleek trapezoidal design and lacquer finish round out this premium bookshelf speaker for those who place the highest demands on both sound and style.

“…full of detail and depth in its sound.”
"Where the Definion 3s truly stands out is in its very even dispersion of a neutral, detailed, and highly balanced sound. There is, of course, a sweet spot, but with these Teufels you can still enjoy much of that sound even off-centre. That’s a nice advantage in a living room where more than one pair of ears is listening. We haven’t tested them in a multichannel setup, but given these qualities they seem like strong candidates for a 5.1 or 7.1 system. Definitely worth the money."
Gold Award
"(...) Visually, this looks like a 2-way system, but appearances can be deceiving. Teufel uses its SCA (Synchronized Coaxial Acoustics) driver technology, which means the Definion 3S is in fact a 3-way system. The secret lies in the upper 16 cm driver."
"Well-finished, this elegant, compact speaker delivers an engaging sound."
"And indeed, the compact Definion 3S sounds dynamic and almost as full-bodied as its larger sibling. In terms of tonal balance and spatial impression, both perform on an equal level."
"The Definion 3S impresses with its coaxial driver technology and its ingenious coaxial mid/high driver. With excellent build quality, this elegant, compact speaker delivers an engaging sound and fantastic spatial imaging. Long live the Definion series!"
"It performs almost at a level I've experienced with speakers twice the price."
"Particularly striking for both eye and ear is the Berlin-developed and patented “SCA (Synchronized Coaxial Acoustics)” driver, which combines a flat diaphragm responsible for the midrange and a centrally mounted tweeter into one acoustic unit. The goal is clear: Teufel aims to replicate the principle of a single, complete sound source as closely as possible with this design."
"In terms of value for money, the Berlin-based team has once again outdone themselves."
"The Teufel Definion 3S is a clear example of the versatility of the Berlin-based speaker manufacturer. In addition to Bluetooth speakers, multichannel systems, and headphones, Teufel also offers a few true gems in the two-channel segment with the Definion series. In terms of value for money, the Berlin-based team has once again outdone themselves."
