What are on-ear headphones?
As the name implies, on-ear headphones sit on the ear, but do not cover them completely. The padded ear cups make it comfortable to wear this style of headphone. There is also effective external sound reduction with this design. With the AIRY and the new SUPREME ON, Teufel offers not only stylish, but also high-quality on-ear headphones. Thanks to Bluetooth technology with aptX for high-definition sound, music can be enjoyed on the go or at home with or without wires. The NFC standard, which can even be used to create up to six profiles for different devices, ensures speedy pairing. Thus, smartphones or even tablets can be connected to the AIRY without any problems.
-
What are over-ear headphones?
The closed design of Over-Ear headphones allows significantly less outside noise to enter, and sound leaking out is also greatly reduced. This means that the ears are less ventilated, and the weight is slightly higher than with the open design, but the sound is much more powerful, with less external noise. Closed over-ear headphones are currently the most common in the portfolio, not least of all because of their sound characteristics. These include the Teufel MASSIVE and the REAL series headphones.
-
What are the advantages of in-ear headphones?
In-Ear headphones or also called Bluetooth in-ears are, as the name suggests, meant to sit directly in the user’s ear. Teufel offers ear tips in three different sizes for selected headphones of this design. That means these headphones can fit anyone. Due to their design, in-ears block much outside noise, leaving you to fully concentrate on the music. Teufel's MOVE BT are in-ear headphones that receive music wirelessly via Bluetooth, eliminating annoying tangled cables and allowing for even more mobility. In parallel, we also carry the AIRY SPORTS – a professional in-ear sports headphone with Linear HD driver, IPX7 waterproof certification and effective external sound reduction, and the AIRY TRUE WIRELESS – which are completely wireless and also have excellent sound characteristics thanks to Linear HD neodymium drivers.

Which Teufel headphones support Bluetooth?
Wireless Bluetooth headphones offer significantly more freedom of movement than conventional wired headphones. In addition, making calls on the go is no problem thanks to the integrated microphone via the headset function (hands-free). Due to their high battery life, the popular wireless headphones can be used flexibly in everyday life; the MOVE BT, for example, has a battery life of up to 20 hours.
-
Which headphones are completely wireless?
True Wireless headphones produce the best sound while being very comfortable and allowing total freedom of movement. Outside of the battery charging cable, these headphones have no wired connection to anything. True Wireless headphones work like normal in-ears otherwise, fitting snugly into each ear. The signals are transmitted via Bluetooth 5.0, making them easy and convenient to pair with most modern audio listening devices. There are also no more cables to get caught on things, guaranteeing maximum freedom of movement. The signals can be conveniently controlled by touch panels on the respective earphones. With the REAL BLUE TWS, it is also possible to switch between transparency mode and Active Noise Canceling mode.
-

What is ANC? Active Noise Cancelling
On long journeys by bus, train or plane, monotonous engine noise can rob you of sleep or even cause headaches. Noise-Cancelling headphones with active noise cancelling (ANC) might be able to help. This special technology actively blocks out interference and outside sounds, making sure you only hear what you want. With this technology, you can enjoy music anywhere wirelessly and undisturbed. Therefore, they are suitable for any situation in life and offer all the features that make good headphones. Teufel products with Active Noise Cancellation:
- REAL BLUE NC
- REAL BLUE TWS
-
What is transparency mode?
Transparency mode is in a way the opposite of the Active Noise Cancelling and ensures that certain ambient noises are still perceptible despite activated noise reduction. In this case, the affected frequencies are not neutralized but amplified to make them easier to hear.

Which headphones are waterproof or water resistant?
A daily companion such as headphones might also come into contact with moisture. Be it your own sweat from jogging or workout or a sudden rain shower on the way to work. How nice that some headphones come with IPX certified splash-proof and even water-proof constructions. At Teufel, this currently includes the MOVE BT and the AIRY TRUE WIRELESS, which meet the splash protection standard IPX5 and the AIRY SPORTS which even have been rated IPX7 and are suitable for swimming (short-term submersion). Don't let the rain spoil your fun and enjoy powerful sound regardless of the weather with our waterproof headphones.

Which gaming headphones make computer games a more authentic experience?
The final boss come out of nowhere, leaving you no chance to get your character to safety? Then it could be that you heard it too late, or the commands were too muffled to understand in Teamspeak. Special gaming headphones and headsets can prevent exactly such scenarios. If your game has true Surround Sound, this audio information will be transmitted to your CAGE without delay or loss so you can locate your opponents quickly and stay one step ahead.

What are linear HD drivers?
Most Teufel headphones are outfitted with Linear HD drivers to convert audio signal into actual sound. Linear HD drivers were invented here in Berlin. They are diaphragms with particularly heavy-duty construction, manufactured with the tightest of tolerances. In addition, headphones with Linear HD drivers deliver very straight frequency response and thus reproduce trebles, midrange, and bass at equal volumes. That makes our headphones the perfect match for all genres of music. The tight tolerances also reduce discrepancies between the right and left diaphragms to a minimum. The result is a top-notch stereo panorama. Furthermore, the Linear HD drivers reproduce a wide frequency response – both low (down to approx. 20 Hz) and high frequencies (up to approx. 20 kHz) come out crystal clear. Linear HD drivers are also best suited to reproducing high resolution music.

Can I also make phone calls with headphones?
Many of our wireless Bluetooth headphones also offer headset function, making it very practical to hold video conferences over Microsoft Teams or Skype as well as, of course, making regular phone calls. They come with a button you can use to accept calls, thus also activating the microphone.
In our wired headphones as well as in the headphones of the REAL series, a microphone is integrated in the cable itself. -
What do I do if I don't have a headphone jack on my phone?
Some smartphone manufacturers now do without the typical plug for headphones on their devices. However, you can use all wired headphones again with a small "USB-C to headphone" adapter that is available in stores. You can find such adapters, for instance, in our accessories section.
